Academic Skills
Ashni has 11 years of experience tutoring students across top New York City schools in SAT & ACT prep, math, reading comprehension, English grammar, and more. Her goal is to connect with each student and illuminate his or her own potential. Her approach to tutoring begins with understanding each student’s learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement.
Often, students are overwhelmed with their course load, extracurriculars, and the looming college entrance exams and application process. She works with students to break down subject material into digestible concepts, so they’re confident in their thorough and deep understanding of the material. Her mission is to help them learn how it is they learn, to find some ease in the process, and to empower them with tools they can apply to the rest of their academic careers and beyond.Ashni holds a dual degree in Biology and Health Policy from Brandeis University. She is also a musician. She’s worked with students who attend top New York City schools, including SAR, Ramaz, Avenues, Spence, Brearley, Nightingale, Dalton, Bronx Science, The Lycée Français, and more.

Nisha Mani
Tutor
Integrated & General Math
Nisha is a graduate student at Fordham University, where she is pursuing a degree in Quantitative Finance. She recently earned her B.A. in Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis. Her tutoring journey began in high school where she worked closely with her local Boys & Girls Club, and over the years she has worked with students ranging from middle school to college, covering a wide array of mathematical topics from algebra to multivariable calculus.
She believes that math is not just about finding the right answer, but about learning how to think—how to break down complex problems, spot patterns, and approach challenges with creativity and confidence. In her sessions, Nisha helps students build problem-solving frameworks they can return to across subjects and situations. She believes that every student can build a strong relationship with math when given the tools and strategies to think critically and independently. -
Michael Resnick
Tutor
Integrated & General Math
Physics
Michael is an engineer who loves the way that math and science can open our eyes to patterns in the world around us. He draws on examples from nature and everyday experience to help make fundamental concepts relatable and intuitive to students whenever possible. There are often many ways to go about a problem, and he helps students notice something familiar in a problem that can lead them to a solution that resonates and feels like their own. He believes that learning anything can be a joy when it's approached at the right pace and in a natural way.
His interest in tutoring began in high school and has since worked with students grades 2-12 in various STEM topics including calculus, chemistry, and physics. He has taught a middle school summer program for off-road vehicle design, co-instructed a summer camp's woodshop, and was a teaching assistant for a sustainable design course at Olin College, where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
He originally hails from Long Island, NY, and has lived in 6 states and abroad doing engineering, food fermentation, building tiny houses, tutoring (of course), and more. In his free time he plays music and makes furniture. -

Rtusha Kulkarni
Tutor
SAT & ACT
Rtusha Kulkarni has over 5 years experience tutoring in SAT & ACT prep. She was born in India and raised in Minnesota. She holds a B.A in Film Studies and minored in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, and her M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University.
She has always been drawn to teaching. What began as an after-school job to pad her weekly allowance in high school quickly turned into a passion that she has sustained ever since. She was a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate and graduate courses at Columbia University and tutored students in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Dance, and Film.
Rtusha’s current focus is ACT/SAT prep. She takes the time to understand a student’s interests, strengths, and anxieties and tailors her tutoring approach accordingly to create unique, engaging, and supportive lessons that builds students’ confidence (and sometimes we have a laugh while we’re at it too!).
In her free time, Rtusha loves to roller skate, cook, watch soccer, go to movie theaters, and belt Beyoncé songs when no one is around (no one should be around).
